Radiologist Opportunities at CDC

Canada Diagnostic Centres is seeking skilled and versatile radiologists for a rewarding and well remunerated career as a consultant within our growing outpatient clinic practice in Calgary, Alberta. The start date is flexible between now and October 1, 2021, but we always welcome inquiries from qualified and interested candidates.

Remuneration is monthly and based on a fixed share of fee for service billings. We are also fully committed to work-life-balance and allow for highly flexible vacation time throughout the year. We are currently recruiting for two opportunities available in both General and Breast Imaging Radiology.

General Radiology (Calgary Opportunities)

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be proficient in adult and basic pediatric radiography, including adult GI fluoroscopy.
  • Be proficient in General body ultrasound, Obstetrical ultrasound, Vascular ultrasound, MSK ultrasound, and Breast ultrasound.
  • Be proficient in or demonstrate aptitude for basic image-guided MSK and spine procedures for pain management, under both fluoroscopy and ultrasound, as applicable.
  • Be proficient in breast imaging and interventions, including tomosynthesis and ultrasound guided biopsies.
  • Have some experience with or be willing to learn and perform DEXA BMD.
  • Be comfortable in the clinical care of patients, as required, including history, physical exam, and counselling; including but not limited to women’s health issues.
  • Be comfortable in the emergency care of unwell patients.
  • Be able to successfully manage and cultivate relationships with fellow radiologists and staff, referring physicians, and patients alike.

Breast Imaging Radiology (Calgary Opportunities)

The ideal candidate will have breast fellowship training or a demonstrated interest, focus, and experience in breast imaging, with the following experience:

  • Be proficient in breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammography with tomosynthesis, and breast ultrasound with experience in or willingness to adopt ABUS where appropriate; able to interpret breast MRI.
  • Be proficient in breast interventions including stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.

General outpatient Radiology is an important part of our practice, including:

  • Adult and basic pediatric radiography.
  • General body ultrasound, Obstetrical ultrasound, Vascular ultrasound and MSK ultrasound.
  • DEXA BMD.
  • The clinical care of patients as required, including history, physical exam, and counselling; including but not limited to women’s health issues.
  • The emergency care of unwell patients, as necessary.
  • Management and cultivation of relationships with fellow radiologists and staff, referring physicians, and patients alike.

Onsite training can be arranged for some of these areas, as required. We also offer private MRI in Calgary, so if you are fellowship-trained in a relevant area of MRI, we can offer MRI practice as well.

Qualifications and Requirements

The following are the requirements we are looking for in qualified candidates:

  1. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Diagnostic Radiology.
  2. Up to date CPR certification.
  3. College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta licensure or eligibility, Diagnostic Radiology (including full approval for ultrasound).
  4. Canadian Association of Radiologists mammography accreditation or eligibility.
  5. CMPA membership.
  6. Eligible for an Alberta Health billing number and practitioner ID.
