Canada Diagnostic Centres is proud supporter of the Alberta Breast Cancer Screening Program.
The program recommends that women between the ages of 40 and 74 receive regular screening mammograms, at least every 2 years. Some women who are at higher risk may require enhanced or more frequent screening.

Did You Know?
For those between the ages of 45 to 74, you can self-refer and book your screening mammogram without a referral or requisition from a doctor if you need to. CDC does encourage you to contact your family physician’s office first, if you have one.
Why are regular mammograms important?
Simply put, getting a mammogram is important because it can help save your life. 1 in 8 women in Alberta will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Screening mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early, when treatment is more likely to be successful.
